urgent.. "Dragon" On a mission that causes an underwater capsize

Chinese scientists have developed an innovative radar technology capable of transmitting electromagnetic waves at speeds close to the speed of light, and allowing the detection of submarines in the deep sea. This technology relies on the advanced use of the Doppler effect and the synthesis of high-energy microwaves, and was detailed in a study published on November 28, 2024 in the Chinese academic journal “Modern Radar”.

The research team, led by Li Daojing of the National Microwave Imaging Development Laboratory of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, designed a virtual radio emission source in the sky. This constantly moving source produces extremely low frequency (ELF) electromagnetic waves that can penetrate seawater to detect submarines at depths of up to hundreds of meters below the surface of the sea. ELF signals have a wavelength exceeding 100 metres, which makes them effective in detecting submarines through their interaction with the aquatic environment.

According to the researchers, this technology can detect nuclear submarines, for example, using ELF signals at a frequency of 100 Hz. Its radar cross-section reaches 88 square metres, making it possible to determine its location using standard magnetic detectors. Compact detectors, which can be mounted on drones, allow for wide-area coverage in order to accurately detect submarines over large areas.

In addition to its role in locating submarines, this technology allows additional applications such as communication between surface ships. And submarines at distances of up to 6,000 kilometers. After successful ground experiments, the team plans to further develop this technology to improve its practical application.
