المملكة: Memorandum of understanding between the Human Rights Commission and its counterpart in Tajikistan

The Human Rights Commission and the Human Rights Commission of the Republic of Tajikistan signed in Riyadh today a memorandum of understanding between the two parties. The two sides were represented by His Excellency the President of the Human Rights Commission, Dr. Hala bint Mazyad Al-Tuwaijri, and His Excellency the Commissioner for Human Rights of the Republic of Tajikistan, Omid Babazadeh.
The memorandum included encouraging the two parties to cooperate in building the capabilities of their employees in various fields related to human rights, and to exchange experiences, programs and joint projects in the field of studies and work to disseminate them.

Joint cooperation

The memorandum also referred to benefiting from the experiences of both sides to enhance the spread of awareness of the culture of human rights, and to exchange visits and invitations to attend seminars, joint training programs, meetings and conferences held by either of them, in addition to learning about the best experiences and practices within their jurisdiction.
In the field of information, the memorandum stressed the importance of exchanging statistics, reports, media publications and scientific research, and contributing to the promotion and protection of human rights on the ground, as well as working to enhance education about the rights of persons with disabilities, children, women, the elderly, and other rights.
The signing of the memorandum comes within the framework of the Commission’s cooperation in the field of human rights with national, regional and international organizations and institutions working in the field in order to achieve its goals and strengthen its relations with international bodies and governmental and non-governmental institutions in order to protect and promote human rights.
