A hit-and-run accident in Germany. At least one person was killed, and hospitals are receiving the injured

The mayor of the German city of Magdeburg said that at least one person was killed and more than 68 others were injured after a car stormed one of the city’s Christmas markets.
Magdeburg University Hospital announced that it is ready to receive those injured in what was suspected to be a car ramming attack in a Christmas market in the German city on Friday evening.

A hospital spokesman said that the first 10 to 20 injured people are currently receiving care, adding that the hospital is preparing to receive a much larger number of injured people. The spokesman added, “We are currently preparing, and the intensive care beds are ready.”
The Prime Minister of the state of Saxony-Anhalt, Rainer Heslov, said he was horrified by what happened.

“This is a horrific event, especially now in the days leading up to Christmas,” Heislov said. On his way to Magdeburg in his car, Heislov added that he wanted to see the situation on the ground for himself.
It is noteworthy that Magdeburg is a city with a population of about 237 thousand people and is located about 150 kilometers west of Berlin.
