Fujairah, December 21 / WAM / Under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad Al Sharqi, Crown Prince of Fujairah, the Fujairah Dressage Championship (Dressage) will start tomorrow at the Fujairah Fort Square.
The Supreme Organizing Committee of the tournament announced, in the press conference held at Fujairah Castle, the completion of its preparations and readiness during the past months to organize the tournament for the second year in a row.
The tournament attracts the participation of 60 riders from various stables and equestrian stalls from around the world, and enjoys a large audience presence from inside and outside the country. The tournament competitions are judged by an elite group of specialized Arab and foreign referees.
His Excellency Dr. Ahmed Hamdan Al Zeyoudi, Chairman of the Supreme Organizing Committee of the Fujairah Equestrian Championships, said in his speech at the press conference that the championship is being held for the second year in a row under the generous patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad Al Sharqi, Crown Prince of Fujairah, and aims to increase and diversify equestrian activities in the emirate and interest in sports. Heritage and enhancing the position of the Emirate of Fujairah in organizing and hosting international competitions in this field.
The tournament enjoys great demand from riders from various stables in the country and abroad. It is an Olympic sport that reflects the rider’s ability to control and tame a horse, and competitors compete in it to display their skills in taming the participating horses.
For his part, Ali Musabah Al Kaabi, Chairman of the Dressage Committee of the Emirates Equestrian and Racing Federation, Vice Chairman of the Supreme Organizing Committee of the Fujairah Equestrian Championships, said that the tournament continues to attract participants from various countries of the world, as they compete for first places and the valuable prizes offered by the tournament, amounting to 150 thousand UAE dirhams.
