Germany.. Frankfurt Airport expects to receive one million passengers during Christmas
A spokesman for the airport operator Fraport said that there is a lot of activity at the airport, noting that the number of take-off and landing flights today alone reached 1,100 flights with a number of passengers approaching 170,000 people.
Christmas period
A similar number is expected to be recorded tomorrow, Sunday, and the spokesman added that travel had already begun yesterday, Friday, with the beginning of the school holidays.
He stated that it is likely to reach the barrier of one million passengers by December 26, indicating that this is a “good number” that is approximately equivalent to last year’s level.
Allocate enough time for travel
Fraport advised travelers to allocate sufficient time for travel, noting that it is preferable for passengers who have luggage that must be delivered, to arrive at the airport two and a half hours before the flight time.
The company also advised that check-in be done in advance, and noted that it is also possible to reserve online a time period for security checks to avoid waiting.
forced landing
Last October, German police reported that an Indian plane carrying 147 passengers made an emergency landing at Frankfurt Airport in Germany.
This followed a bomb threat during her flight from New Delhi to London.
At the time, a police spokesman indicated that the threat had been posted on the social media platform “X”, pointing out that a bomb had been planted on board the plane operated by the “Vistara” company.
The pilot informed German air traffic control and requested a diversion to Frankfurt.
