17 million citizens benefited from health services in Cairo within 11 months

The Ministry of Health and Population announced the provision of medical services in hospitals and primary care centers in Cairo Governorate for 17 million 278 thousand and 216 citizens from the beginning of January until the end of November 2024, in implementation of the directives of Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Health and Population, To achieve sustainable development, and the vision of “Egypt”. 2030».

Dr. Hossam Abdel Ghaffar, the official spokesman for the Ministry of Health and Population, indicated that medical services will be provided to 6 million and 40 thousand and 539 citizens through the hospitals of the Directorate of Health Affairs in Cairo,  Adding that medical services  Provided to citizens, it included receiving 3 million, 505,872 citizens in outpatient clinics in hospitals, and 290,099 citizens in evening clinics.

He added that the medical services provided to citizens included 121,120 dialysis sessions, in addition to 87,351 services in Reception and emergency departments, in addition to activating the “remote” diagnosis system. At Al-Munira General Hospital and Al-Hawd Al-Marsoud Hospital, providing service to 8,70 citizens, and providing physical therapy services to 471,480 citizens, including (motion therapy, movement therapy for children, ultrasound, shock waves, electrical stimulation, therapeutic massage, and laser). In addition to issuing 162,386 decisions at state expense.

He explained «Abdul Ghaffar» The medical convoys provided their services to 119,503 citizens, through 71 medical convoys for various specialties at the governorate level, and 3 million, 467,100 citizens were received through morning clinics in primary care centers, and 385,320 citizens were received in evening clinics. It provided family planning services to 907,511 women through 118 family planning clinics. Rural women pioneers with 35,084 home visits, in addition to providing advice and awareness to 1,502 beneficiaries of the “One Thousand Golden Days” initiative.

Abdul Ghaffar said: The efficiency of Sadr Al-Abbasiya Hospital has been developed and raised, as a liver and digestive system department, a children’s department, and the reception and emergency building are being developed, in addition to the construction of a building for the Nursing Institute. The delivery of the upgraded building in the hospital is being completed to increase the capacity, in addition to the development of Ain Shams General Hospital. And establishing a nursing school there, and developing and raising the efficiency of Boulak Abu Al-Ala Hospital, to provide the best medical services. 

He pointed out the creation of an intensive care department at Dar Al-Salam General Hospital with a capacity 9 intensive care beds and 2 intermediate care beds, in addition to intensive care equipment, and 626 medical devices were provided (dialysis machines, ultrasound, EKG, monitor, and various surgical supplies) and were distributed to  Hospitals most in need, in addition to repairing 226 broken devices. 

Abdul Ghaffar added: 11 specialized clinics were created in 6 hospitals, including clinics (therapeutic nutrition, rehabilitation, rheumatology, physical therapy, and pediatric neurology) at Rod Al-Farag General Hospital, and 3 clinics (psychiatric and neurological, premature infant clinic, and endocrinology) at Shorouk Central Hospital, and a measurement clinic. Hearing aids at Helwan General Hospital, the health insurance clinic at Al-Hawd Al-Marsoud Hospital, and the evening kidney examination clinic at Helwan Fever Hospital, in addition to laboratory services. The new hospitals in (Ain Shams General, Helwan General, Al-Khalifa General, Dar Al-Salam General, and Al-Shorouk General).

For his part, Dr. Hamouda Al-Gazzar, Director of the Directorate of Health Affairs in Cairo Governorate, indicated the intensification of traffic campaigns on health facilities. Governmental and non-governmental, as 5,89 medical facilities were visited, 838 medical facilities were licensed, in addition to 17,989 food facilities, and the withdrawal of 6 thousand and 268 samples, adding that 57 pharmacovigilance units have been activated in health facilities, to collect and evaluate information on the safety of medical products and medicines, and the launch of the (pharma D) program for students of colleges of pharmacy at Mansheyet al-Bakri General Hospital.

He noted « Butcher» To raise the efficiency of workers in health facilities through continuing medical education, and provide 5,720 specialized and administrative training courses and workshops, in addition to 44 conferences in various medical fields, for 49,577 beneficiaries, and 33 trainees obtained a TOT scholarship from Harvard University, where 18 were supervised. A nursing school for girls and boys teaches scientific curricula to 2,377 male and female students, and a technical nursing institute was opened on May 15. It accommodates 128 male and female students.
