The Minister of Justice, Chairman of the Council of the Saudi Bar Association, Dr. Walid bin Muhammad Al-Samaani, praised the developments witnessed by the Kingdom in the legislative and legal aspects, with the support of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Crown Prince and Prime Minister – may God preserve them. God -, in light of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030.
He said in his speech during the opening of the Saudi Law Conference in Riyadh today, which is organized by the Saudi Bar Association under the slogan “Developments in the Legal Sector and Legal Consultations,” that “the legal aspect in the Kingdom has gone through developmental stages led by His Highness the Crown Prince, perhaps the most important of which is: specialized legislation, and the law is at the forefront.” Aspects and areas covered by development at this stage.”
He continued: “The legal profession is one of the broadest professions and is indispensable in all work, whether it is purely legal or mixed administrative work between the two sides. The legal staff is the most flexible of the staff and therefore can be used in various judicial operations.”

Dr. Al-Samaani pointed out that reliance has become greater on the lawyer and the legal profession, especially these days, and will increase in the future, with the diversity of business and development that the Kingdom is going through, and with the consolidation of institutional work in all its concepts, and the central work of legal foundations, and what is related to the construction of model contracts, documentation vessels, and legislative tools. .
The Minister of Justice touched on training and qualification, stressing that the legal profession is a profession that has its own knowledge and skills, and it cannot be practiced without obtaining sufficient qualification in the knowledge and skills aspects.
He highlighted a number of programs and training opportunities provided by the Judicial Training Center and the Saudi Bar Association for male and female graduates of legal specializations, male and female lawyers, and combining practical training with theoretical training, including: the Lawyers Qualification Programme, the Lawyers Development Programme, the Saudi Professional Accreditation Program for Jurists, and the Cooperative Training Programme. For male and female students at the undergraduate level, and other programs.

Justice projects and initiatives

With regard to future justice projects and initiatives that relate to the lawyer; Dr. Al-Samaani confirmed that the renewal of the law license will be automatic and will not take more than 15 days from submitting the completed application, in order to enable and support lawyers and facilitate their practice of the profession.
He confirmed work soon on a project to comprehensively review and develop the legal system in partnership with the Saudi Bar Association. This is to enable the profession, rely on the legal practitioner, facilitate access to legal services, and keep pace with legal, societal and developmental developments in the Kingdom.
It is noteworthy that the Saudi Law Conference sheds light on the future of the legal sector in light of legislative developments in the Kingdom, and highlights the impact of professional and qualification developments in raising the efficiency of the local legal environment, and improving the business and investment environment.
