المملكة: Makkah Al-Mukarramah… Urgent surgery saves a woman from the danger of a rare chest cyst bursting

A medical team specialized in thoracic surgery at Al-Noor Specialized Hospital, a member of the Makkah Al-Mukarramah Health Cluster, succeeded in performing urgent surgery to save a 35-year-old Yemeni pilgrim from a serious condition resulting from the explosion of a rabies cyst in her chest.

The Makkah Al-Mukarramah Health Council explained that the patient arrived at the hospital’s emergency department suffering from severe chest pain, severe shortness of breath, and a significant drop in the level of oxygen in the blood.
After conducting the necessary tests, it was found that there was pneumonia and fluid accumulation in the chest cavity, in addition to a cyst in the upper lobe of the right lung, similar in characteristics to rabies.

The patient’s condition improved

The Makkah Al-Mukarramah Health Council added that the patient was immediately transferred to the operating room, where a delicate surgery was performed that took two hours, including the removal of the cyst.

Doctors confirmed that the operation was successful and that the patient’s condition improved significantly. She regained her ability to breathe normally and left the hospital in good health.
