المملكة: According to the agreement, Riyadh will be the permanent headquarters of the Arab Cybersecurity Council

On the sidelines of the first regular session of the Council of Arab Cybersecurity Ministers, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia signed a headquarters agreement with the Council of Arab Cybersecurity Ministers.
Under the agreement, the Council will take the city of Riyadh as its permanent headquarters, including its affiliated bodies (the General Secretariat and the Executive Office).

Council of Arab Cybersecurity Ministers

The “Council of Arab Cybersecurity Ministers”, which was established based on a proposal submitted by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, is a council consisting of Arab ministers concerned with cybersecurity affairs.
It falls within the scope of the League of Arab States, operates under the umbrella of the League Council, and is specialized in formulating general policies and setting strategies and priorities that will develop joint Arab action in cybersecurity.
As well as considering all topics and developments in cybersecurity at the security, economic, developmental and legislative levels, and approving joint Arab plans in the field of cybersecurity to implement the policies and strategies approved by the Council.

Decisions of the Council of Arab Cybersecurity Ministers

The Council of Arab Cybersecurity Ministers took a number of new decisions, including work on preparing the Arab strategy for cybersecurity.
As well as approving the appointment of the Secretary-General and members of the Executive Office of the Council, holding joint cyber exercises, and approving the structure and work mechanism of the Council.

Review of cybersecurity developments

The Council also discussed developments in cybersecurity at a number of levels, and aspects of cooperation with international organizations, which contribute to enhancing cybersecurity at the Arab level.
The Kingdom, represented by the Governor of the National Cybersecurity Authority, Engineer Majid bin Muhammad Al-Mazyad, chaired the first regular session of the Council of Arab Cybersecurity Ministers.
Riyadh hosted its activities, and the Governor of the National Cybersecurity Authority opened the work of the first regular session of the Council.

Industry development, prosperity and stability

He stressed that the initiative of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to propose establishing the Council of Arab Cybersecurity Ministers came based on its established and authentic principle towards maintaining common Arab security.
“More” extended its highest thanks and gratitude to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and to His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister – may God protect them – for the support and wise guidance.
He stated that welcoming the establishment of the Council confirms the importance of cybersecurity in creating development, prosperity and stability.
