"Fujairah Environment" Discussing the codification of accreditation requirements for environmental consulting companies

Fujairah, December 24 / WAM / The Fujairah Environment Authority held a coordination meeting to discuss the mechanisms used in codifying the requirements for accreditation of environmental consulting companies operating in the emirate, as part of its continuing efforts to keep pace with changes and support environmental sustainability.
The meeting discussed the requirements related to preparing environmental impact assessment studies for development projects in various sectors, with a focus on large industrial and commercial projects, which are among the Authority’s priorities to ensure sustainable and balanced development and support the emirate’s green economy.
The Authority bases its laws on the tasks stipulated in Law No. 1 of 2018 regarding the establishment of the Fujairah Environment Authority, in addition to using federal laws and international best practices to continuously update its list of requirements in accordance with applicable international laws, in a way that enhances the environmental and economic standing of the Emirate of Fujairah regionally and internationally and makes It is an attractive investment environment due to its unique strategic location.
The Authority confirmed that these studies are an essential tool to ensure the implementation of development projects, in line with the principles of sustainability, as they are prepared by consulting companies for the benefit of investors who are about to start a new project, update, or add to a project, to be submitted to the Authority for approval after review and verification of its validity. Ensuring its compliance with the environmental requirements in force in the emirate.
