A passenger plane crashed in Kazakhstan

A passenger plane belonging to the Azerbaijan Airlines company crashed in western Kazakhstan today, while it was on a flight from Baku to Grozny, the capital of the Russian Caucasus Republic of Chechnya, with 67 people on board, according to authorities.
The Kazakh Emergencies Ministry said that the plane crashed near the city of Aktau in the west of the country.
Also, the Ministry of Transport stated in a statement that “the plane, which was making a flight from Baku to Grozny, crashed near Aktau,” adding that it “belongs to the Azerbaijan Airlines company.”
The Kazakh Ministry added, “According to preliminary information from the Azerbaijani side, there were 62 passengers and five crew members on board the plane.”
For its part, the Azerbaijan Airlines company indicated that the plane, an Embraer 190, “carried out an emergency landing.”
The Kazakh Emergencies Ministry explained that “information regarding the victims is being clarified,” adding that “according to preliminary information, there are survivors.”
