25 survivors of the Azerbaijani plane crash in Kazakhstan

25 people survived the crash of an Azerbaijan Airlines plane on Wednesday in western Kazakhstan, while 67 people were on board, regional medical authorities reported.
The ministry said in a statement via the Telegram application, “According to preliminary information, there are 25 survivors, including 22 people who were taken to the hospital,” explaining that 150 rescue personnel were sent to the crash site.
Medical authorities had previously reported that 14 people survived.

Plane crash in Kazakhstan

An Azerbaijan Airlines passenger plane crashed in western Kazakhstan on Wednesday, while it was on a flight from Baku to Grozny, the capital of the Russian Caucasus Republic of Chechnya, with 67 people on board, authorities said.
The Kazakh Emergencies Ministry said that the plane crashed near the city of Aktau in the west of the country. Also, the Ministry of Transport stated in a statement that “the plane, which was making a flight from Baku to Grozny, crashed near Aktau,” adding that it “belongs to the Azerbaijan Airlines company.”

Passengers on board

The Kazakh Ministry added, “According to preliminary information from the Azerbaijani side, there were 62 passengers and five crew members on board the plane.”
For its part, the Azerbaijan Airlines company indicated that the plane, an Embraer 190, “carried out an emergency landing.”
The Kazakh Emergencies Ministry explained that “information regarding the victims is being clarified,” adding that “according to preliminary information, there are survivors.”
