Japan.. A cyber attack delays domestic and international travel

Japan Airlines said it was subjected to a cyber attack on Thursday.
This caused delays to more than 20 domestic flights, but the company said there was no impact on flight safety.

Japan Airlines explained that the problem appeared this morning, when the company’s network linking internal and external systems began to malfunction.
The cyber attack led to the delay of 24 domestic flights for more than 30 minutes, indicating that the impact may expand later in the day.
Japan Airlines ticket sales for both domestic and international flights scheduled to take off today have been temporarily suspended.

Meanwhile, Japanese Chief Cabinet Secretary Yoshimasa Hayashi stated in his statement in a regular press conference that the Ministry of Transport asked Japan Airlines to expedite efforts to restore order and accommodate the affected passengers.
Television images showed many passengers at Haneda Airport in Tokyo, and air traffic at Tokyo Airport was disrupted, due to the attack that hit the travel season at the end of the year.
