Prime Minister: The textile sector receives President Sisi’s attention and continuous guidance

Prime Minister Dr. Mostafa Madbouly stressed the attention given to the textile sector by President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, and his continuous directives to continue the development and modernization of this important sector, in order to maximize the capabilities and capabilities we possess, in order to restore Egyptian leadership in the textile sector.
This came during Dr. Mustafa Madbouly’s tour today, Saturday, in the city of Mahalla al-Kubra. He began his inspection visit to the Misr Spinning and Weaving Company, affiliated with the Holding Company for Cotton, Spinning, and Weaving, which is one of the companies of the Ministry of Public Business Sector. He was accompanied by: Lieutenant General Kamel Al-Wazir, Deputy Prime Minister for Industrial Development, Minister of Industry and Transport, and Dr. Mahmoud Esmat, Minister of Electricity and Renewable Energy. Dr. Manal Awad, Minister of Local Development, Engineer Mohamed Shimi, Minister of Public Business Sector, Alaa Farouk, Minister of Agriculture and Land Reclamation, Major General Ashraf El Gendy, Governor of Gharbia, and members of the House of Representatives. Madbouly said: We are here today on the land of Mahalla al-Kubra, the industrial city that is considered one of the largest The industrial castles in Egypt, which were distinguished through various stages by the spinning and textile industry, which gained a superior international reputation, adding: Today we have before us a national strategy to develop this important industry, and the government, represented by the Ministry of Public Business Sector, aims to advance In the textile industry, within the framework of the comprehensive development approach pursued by the state, which contributes to maximizing the use of the Egyptian capabilities inherent in this framework, and supports the national economy, especially since the textile industry is considered a labor-intensive industry.
 
While Engineer Muhammad Shimi confirmed that the visit made by the Prime Minister to the Mahalla Spinning Company comes within the framework of following up on the new factories being implemented and raising the efficiency of existing factories, in implementation According to the directives of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi in this regard, and in confirmation of the state’s interest in all its agencies in working to advance production in various sectors, especially the textile sector, and to deepen the industry in order to maximize the capabilities we possess.
The Minister of Public Business Sector referred to the efforts made by the Ministry within the framework of the national project to develop the textile industry and restructure the companies affiliated with the Holding Company for Cotton, Spinning, and Weaving. And clothing, explaining that the project aims to double the production capacity of yarn by 5 times the current capacity to reach 130 thousand tons annually, and to double the textile capacity 8 times to reach 198 million meters annually, and to maximize lint production from 1.2 thousand tons to 115 thousand tons annually, and in Clothes capacity is about 5 times the current capacity, reaching 40 million pieces, in addition to rehabilitating existing factories and raising their efficiency, which contributes to restoring Egyptian leadership globally in the clothing industry. Spinning and weaving and enhancing the competitiveness of national products in global markets.
The Minister pointed out that the development project of the Misr Spinning and Weaving Company in Mahalla El-Kubra includes the establishment of 5 new factories and the development of 3 other factories, as It accounts for about 45% of the investments of the national project to develop the textile industry, stressing in this regard the continuous follow-up of the position of the development project in its various axes, including construction work and the supply of modern machines from major international companies, as well as Training programs for employees to deal with modern technology.
At the beginning of his visit to the company, Dr. Mostafa Madbouly watched a short film about the cotton, spinning and weaving industry in Egypt, and the history of the Mahalla Spinning Company and the project. The Prime Minister also listened to a presentation by Dr. Ahmed Shaker, Executive Managing Director of the Holding Company for Cotton and Spinning. And textiles, during which he reviewed the holding company’s strategy and the executive position of the national project to develop the textile industry, which includes about 65 factories and service buildings across the republic, between the establishment, development and rehabilitation of 7 companies: Misr Spinning and Weaving in Mahalla al-Kubra, Misr Spinning and Weaving and Al-Bayda Dyers in Kafr. Al-Dawar, Damietta Spinning and Weaving, Shebin El-Kom Spinning and Weaving, Dakahlia Spinning and Weaving, Misr Helwan Spinning. The Prime Minister began his tour by inspecting a number of existing factories that witnessed rehabilitation and increased efficiency after operating a number of stopped machines, providing spare parts, and performing the necessary maintenance. , which included the "Spinning 2" factory Which produces fine and medium combed yarns and produces 7 tons per day after increasing its efficiency, and the “Nasej 3” factory To produce high-end fabrics produced from fine threads of Egyptian cotton, most of its production is exported to the foreign market, and the “Nasej 1” factory Which produces all types of fabrics and most of them are exported abroad, which contributed to raising the production capacities and capabilities of these factories.
