In detail: The Kingdom and Canada discuss areas of economic cooperation
During the meeting, a discussion took place between Saudi Arabia and Canada, in addition to topics of common interest.
Saudi Canadian Business Council
Last July, the Federation of Saudi Chambers announced the adoption of the final formation of the Saudi-Canadian Business Council in its new session (1445-1449).
At that time, Mohammed bin Nasser Al Dulaim was named President of the Council, and Abdullah bin Salem Al-Yami and Abdullah bin Ahmed Al-Ahmad were named Vice-Presidents.
This important development in economic relations between the Kingdom and Canada came 5 years after the Union of Chambers suspended the activity of the Joint Business Council and trade missions and delegations.
Saudi-Canadian relations
The Chairman of the Saudi-Canadian Business Council, Mohammed Al Dulaim, also stated that the formation of the Council coincides with the development witnessed by Saudi-Canadian relations.
He stated that its formation contributes to reopening the path of economic cooperation and resuming trade and investment activities and events between the two countries.
Within the framework of continuing Saudi-Canadian relations, the Minister of Education, Yousef bin Abdullah Al-Benyan, last February, reviewed investment opportunities in the field of education and attracting investments to the Kingdom.
He also reviewed the strengthening of existing scientific and research cooperation in all scientific fields.
He reviewed the best relevant global experiences and practices, while he met many officials and investors there, as part of the visit program he made during the period from February 12 to 13, 2024 AD.
Developing partnerships between Saudi Arabia and Canada
He also discussed developing partnerships between the Ministry of Education and Canadian universities and colleges, and the Minister of Education met on the first day of the visit with the President of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons and its leaders in Ottawa.
He discussed opportunities for cooperation in the fields of medical training and plans to accredit medical programs in the Kingdom’s universities. The Saudi delegation also visited the “Heritage Academy,” which specializes in educating students with learning difficulties.
It included autism, dyslexia, and hyperactivity for all general education grades, and reviewing the available curricula and special education methods, in addition to discussing opportunities for partnerships with relevant authorities in the Kingdom.
