المملكة: With the new year.. the abolition of 31 education departments and 138 educational offices in the Kingdom begins

This is a strategic step through which the Ministry seeks to enable schools to perform their educational and supervisory tasks more effectively and efficiently, in line with the procedural guide for education departments and contributes to developing the educational process and improving the quality of educational outcomes..
The plan, which will begin tomorrow, includes the abolition of education departments in the governorates and their associated education offices, with a total of 31 educational departments and 138 educational offices distributed throughout the Kingdom, and reducing public education departments to only 16 departments, instead of the current 47 departments, which represents a reduction of more than 50 percent. %.
This step aims to improve spending efficiency and better direct human and material resources to support the educational field.
The Ministry is working to implement the plan through multiple stages, starting with the first stage, which includes the Medina Education Department, where three governorates affiliated with it will be merged, in addition to six educational offices affiliated with the governorates and 11 offices affiliated with the General Administration.
The first phase witnesses the merging of departments and offices to achieve the primary goal of enabling schools to perform their supervisory and educational role.
The second phase of the plan includes the education departments of the Northern Borders, Tabuk, Hail, Al-Ahsa, Al-Jawf, Najran, and Al-Baha, where their supervisory offices will be reduced.
This phase will include 10 governorate offices and 27 public administration offices. This comes in the context of merging governorates and supervisory offices into central educational departments capable of improving performance efficiency and reducing duplication of work..
The third stage covers the education departments of Taif, Jeddah, Jazan, the Eastern Province, Makkah Al-Mukarramah, and Al-Qassim.
At this stage, 38 governorate offices and 35 public administration offices will be merged. This aims to achieve a better geographical distribution of supervisory and administrative resources, in a way that supports schools and enhances the efficiency of educational work.
The transformation plan concludes with the fourth phase, which includes the education departments of Riyadh and Asir, where their affiliated offices will be merged.
This phase includes 30 offices affiliated with the governorates and 24 offices affiliated with public administrations.
It is expected that this stage will make optimal use of the available human and administrative resources, while directing them to support schools and achieve the objectives of the educational process.
A qualitative shift in education
The plan also seeks to reduce departments and offices by more than 50%, which contributes to preventing repetition and duplication of supervisory tasks, and achieving a higher level of administrative efficiency in the educational field..
The implementation stages are scheduled to witness the gradual transfer of educational supervision responsibilities to schools, which will enhance their ability to directly manage the educational process.
