Sharjah, December 31 / WAM / The Executive Council of the Emirate of Sharjah, during its meeting this morning in the office of His Highness the Ruler, headed by His Highness Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Crown Prince and Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, issued the Chairman of the Council, and in the presence of His Highness Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler. Sharjah, Vice President of the Council, issued two decisions regarding the establishment and formation of the Supreme Committee for Economic Integration, and granting aid to homeowners affected by natural disasters in the Emirate of Sharjah.

The decision to establish and form the Supreme Committee for Economic Integration in the Emirate of Sharjah aims to prepare a comprehensive strategy for economic development that includes the mainland and free zones, setting general economic targets and their main sectors and requirements that support the economic structure in terms of legislation and policies, enhancing cooperation between government agencies and coordinating efforts to ensure their integration and non-duplication. .

According to the decision, the Supreme Committee for Economic Integration in the Emirate of Sharjah will be formed, headed by Sheikh Fahim bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Head of the Department of Government Relations, and with the membership of Saud Salem Al Mazrouei, Director of the Hamriyah Free Zone Authority, Director of the Sharjah International Airport Free Zone Authority, and Muhammad Juma Al Musharrakh, Executive Director of the Sharjah Foreign Investment Office. Direct, Imad Muhammad Al-Ajouz, Director of the Financial Policy Office at the Central Finance Department, Dr. Amr Saleh, Economic Advisor at the Department of Economic Development, and Abdullah Al-Kadeed Al-Mahrazi, Director of the Statistics Department at the Department of Economic Development. Statistics and Community Development, and Abdel Shafi Al-Ashmawy, national accounts expert at the Department of Statistics and Community Development.

Under the decision to grant aid to homeowners affected by natural disasters in the Emirate of Sharjah, the Department of Social Services is responsible for granting aid to those affected whose homes have been damaged as a result of natural disasters that occur in the emirate in accordance with the provisions of the decision.

The decision included the requirements for requesting assistance, which are that the affected person be a citizen of the United Arab Emirates, that the affected person be permanently residing in the damaged residence at the time the damage occurred, that the documents required by the department be completed, that the affected person’s residence be located within the borders of the emirate, and that the damage be the result of a declared natural disaster. Reported by the relevant authorities.

According to the decision, the Sharjah Civil Defense Authority and the relevant municipality in the emirate shall evaluate the effects of damage to homes resulting from natural disasters and issue a report proving the state of damage in accordance with the standards and standards approved to evaluate the effects of damage in the table attached to the decision, based on the request of the affected person within a maximum period of (15). days from the date of the official announcement of the end of the natural disaster. The head of the Social Services Department may, with the approval of the Executive Council, extend the period for submitting the application in the event that the specified period has elapsed and the affected person does not submit a request to prove the state of damage due to exceptional circumstances.

According to the decision, the Department of Social Services determines the value of the assistance due for the damage that occurred to homes based on the report proving the case, and according to the tables attached to the decision concerned with determining the value of assistance according to the type of disaster.

In implementation of the directives of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, the Council approved adding the category of people with disabilities to the categories covered within Executive Council Resolution No. (19) of 2022 regarding the provision of medical and dental treatment services to elderly citizens in the Emirate of Sharjah.

The Council also approved the draft general organizational structure of the Sharjah Fish Resources Authority, which supports the authority’s performance of its powers through the relevant departments and their human cadres.

During its meeting, the Council discussed a number of government work topics that enhance the development process witnessed by the emirate in all its sectors and fields, which is reflected in the decent life and well-being of citizens and residents in the land of the Emirate of Sharjah.
