Australia welcomes 2025 with a spectacular fireworks display costing $6 million

The Australian city of Sydney celebrated New Year’s Day with a dazzling fireworks display that lasted for 12 minutes, as the city’s sky was lit up with nine tons of fireworks at a cost of $6.3 million.
Sydney is one of the first cities in the world. Which welcomes the new year, and the number of viewers is expected to reach more than a million people, who queued for hours to enter the areas that provide them with the best places to watch.
And it is distinguished. The show, for the first time, launched fireworks from drones into the air, in addition to launching them from the western side of the city’s famous harbor bridge.
The show was accompanied by music specially designed for this occasion. Compositions composed by Australian musician Luna Pan. 53,500 fireworks were launched across the harbour, including from the top of the Sydney Opera House and skyscrapers in the central business district.
In Melbourne, hundreds of thousands gathered to celebrate the New Year. New with a stunning display of fireworks and laser shows. Fireworks lit up more than six square kilometers of the city, as they were launched from 27 skyscrapers. As the clock struck midnight, cheers and applause spread across the city.
The show in Melbourne featured a soundtrack produced in collaboration with Nova 100, while laser beams pierced the sky in colorful colors. Green and blue reflected its beauty on tall buildings. The famous Flinders Street station was also lit up with sparkling colored lights, creating a magical festive atmosphere that complemented the splendor of the fireworks.
Australia welcomed the year 2025 with enthusiasm and joy, as fireworks displays appeared everywhere. From Sydney and Melbourne, artistic and organizational excellence reflects the spirit of celebrating this special annual occasion.
