Korea’s exports will increase by 8.2% in 2024

SEOUL, 1st January, 2020 (WAM) – The Republic of Korea’s exports rose by 8.2% year-on-year during 2024 to set a new annual record, thanks to an increase in semiconductor shipments.

The Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy issued today, Wednesday, according to the Korean Yonhap News Agency, showed that the value of the country’s exports reached 683.8 billion US dollars during 2024, compared to the previous record of 683.6 billion dollars recorded in 2022.

Imports fell by 1.6% year-on-year to $632 billion last year, resulting in a trade surplus of $51.8 billion.
