المملكة: The Kingdom recorded the strongest cold wave in history in January 1992

The official spokesman for the National Center of Meteorology, Hussein bin Muhammad Al-Qahtani, revealed that the Kingdom witnessed the strongest cold wave in its history during the month of January 1992 AD, as the wave continued for 7 continuous days, as the Hail station recorded the lowest temperature of -9.3 degrees Celsius on the 5th of the year. January of that year, with an average minimum temperature of -4.4°C during wave days.
Al-Qahtani explained that the National Center of Meteorology’s historical data for the period between 1985 and 2023 showed that the Hail and Qurayyat stations topped the list of the lowest minimum temperatures recorded in the Kingdom during the month of January, making them the focus of the impact of the strong cold waves that hit the Kingdom during the winter.
