No injuries.. A new earthquake hits northern Ethiopia with a magnitude of 5.5

An earthquake measuring 5.5 on the Richter scale struck northern Ethiopia, while no casualties have been reported so far.
The Euro-Mediterranean Center indicated that the earthquake occurred at a depth of ten kilometers, 55 kilometers northwest of the town of Aspe Teferi.

Last October, an earthquake measuring 4.6 on the Richter scale struck in central Ethiopia.
The US Geological Survey reported at the time that the earthquake was 17 kilometers from the Awash area, and at a depth of ten kilometers.

Landslide disasters in Ethiopia

About two months before this earthquake, Ethiopia witnessed landslides in an inaccessible area in southern Ethiopia.
The incident witnessed the killing of about 257 people, while it was reported at the time that the victims may have reached 500 people, according to the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) in its report at the time.

He stated that relief operations continued, as residents were digging with their bare hands or shovels due to the lack of other options, in an attempt to search for their victims.
