Urgent.. A military convoy belonging to the Pakistani army was subjected to an ambush and loss of life and equipment

A military convoy belonging to the Pakistani army in southwestern Pakistan, in Balochistan province, near the city of Turbat, was ambushed by local militants. The attack led to the death of at least 11 soldiers. 

 

The incident comes amid increasing violence in the region, which has long been the scene of confrontation between the Pakistani central government and local separatist groups.

According to preliminary information, the militants attacked the convoy using automatic weapons and grenade launchers. 

 

The army tried to repel The attack, but it suffered heavy losses, and the attackers fled to mountainous areas, making it difficult to pursue them.

 Additional security forces were deployed at the site of the incident and the area was cordoned off to conduct a search operation.

And no So far no group has claimed responsibility for the attack, but local authorities suspect militants from the Balochistan Liberation Army, one of the most active separatist groups in the region, of carrying out the attack. The Balochistan Liberation Army and other extremist groups have repeatedly carried out attacks on military targets, convoys and strategic infrastructure, including gas pipelines and transportation routes.

Naturally resource-rich Balochistan remains one of the most unstable regions in Pakistan.  

The country’s authorities accuse local separatists of having ties to foreign intelligence services, stressing that the groups receive foreign funding and support to undermine national security.

 At the same time The same region’s residents complain of social and economic discrimination, lack of investment, and repression by central authorities.
