South Pacific… An earthquake measuring 4.8 Richter strikes the islands of Tonga

Today, an earthquake measuring 4.8 on the Richter scale struck the islands of Tonga in the South Pacific Ocean.
The US Geological Survey reported that the earthquake occurred 117 kilometers southeast of the village of Hihifu on the island, at a depth of 36.5 kilometers.

There have been no reports so far of material damage or human losses as a result of the earthquake, and no tsunami warnings have been issued.
