المملكة: Heavy rain in Jeddah… and warnings of weather fluctuations and floods

The National Center of Meteorology in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia called on all citizens and residents to adhere to the preventive guidelines to ensure their safety and the safety of their families, in light of the weather fluctuations witnessed in some regions of the Kingdom, which may cause heavy rains and the occurrence of torrential rains and lightning strikes.
He also stressed the need to stay away from exposed areas and not to use mobile devices in the event of lightning strikes, due to their great danger to lives.
At the same time, the Jeddah Municipality mobilized its field efforts to deal with water accumulations, as emergency teams were deployed in the affected locations to ensure the smooth flow of movement and the safety of citizens.
The National Center of Meteorology pointed out the importance of following weather warnings through its digital platforms, including the website “ncm.gov.sa” and its accounts on social media, while stressing the need to take preventive measures to reduce the potential risks resulting from the current weather fluctuations.
A wave of rain in the Kingdom
The official spokesman for the National Center of Meteorology, Hussein Al-Qahtani, revealed that the rain wave that began last night began to affect the northern regions of the Kingdom.
He added that the rains are expected to gradually extend to include the regions of Al-Qassim, Riyadh, Al-Sharqiyah, Al-Baha, and Asir, in addition to the regions of Medina and Makkah Al-Mukarramah and their coasts.
Al-Qahtani confirmed that this weather condition will continue until next Wednesday, calling on everyone to follow the reports of the National Center of Meteorology continuously, and to adhere to the instructions of the concerned authorities in order to preserve public safety.
Kingdom weather today
In its weather report today, Monday, across the Kingdom’s regions, the National Center of Meteorology expects continued moderate to heavy thunderstorms, leading to torrential rains, accompanied by hail showers and active winds stirring up dust and dirt over parts of the northern border regions, Al-Jawf, Hail, and Medina.
It extends to parts of Al-Qassim, Al-Sharqiyah, Riyadh, Makkah Al-Mukarramah and Al-Baha regions.
Rain will be light to moderate in parts of the Tabuk region, with a chance for fog to form in parts of those areas.
While light snow is not ruled out on the northern outskirts of the Kingdom.
