Watch| Weather emergency.. A winter storm spreads snow in American states

Five American states declared a state of emergency in anticipation of bad weather conditions that would cause snow to accumulate on the roads: Kansas, Arkansas, Missouri, Virginia, and Kentucky.
The National Weather Service in the United States said that the winter storm the country is currently witnessing will lead to the heaviest snowfall in 10 years.
Today, the states of Kansas and Missouri witnessed heavy snowfall, and the authorities warned that driving on the roads at the present time is “highly dangerous.”

12 US states were affected by the storm

About 12 American states are affected by the strong winter storm, reaching areas that have not witnessed a similar storm in recent years, and causing the current month of January to be the coldest since 2011, according to what local media reported.
The National Weather Service issued winter storm warnings extending from Kansas and Missouri, and blizzard conditions were reported as far as New Jersey, where at least 8 inches of snow is expected.

Storm beginning of 2025

A storm of snow, ice, wind and freezing temperatures caused dangerous travel conditions in parts of the central United States at the beginning of the year, as a devastating winter storm brought the possibility of “the heaviest snowfall in a decade” in some areas.
“For locations in this region that receive the highest snowfall amounts, the snowfall could be the heaviest in at least a decade,” the weather service said.

Ice covers main roads

Snow and ice covered major roads in parts of Kansas and Indiana, and the National Guard in both states were deployed to help stranded motorists.
At least 8 inches of snow is expected, especially north of Interstate 70.
The National Weather Service issued winter storm warnings extending from Kansas and Missouri, where blizzard conditions were reported, all the way to New Jersey through Monday.
