The President of the Sudanese Sovereignty Council begins an official visit to Mali

The President of the Sudanese Sovereignty Council, Lieutenant General Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, headed this Saturday morning to the Republic of Mali, on an official visit.

The Sudanese News Agency (SUNA) reported that Al-Burhan is scheduled to hold discussions during the visit. With the President of Mali, Assimi Goita, regarding the course of bilateral relations and ways to advance and enhance cooperation horizons between the two countries, and issues of common interest.

Al-Burhan is accompanied during the visit by the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Hussein Al-Amin, and the Director General of the General Intelligence Service, Lt. General First Ahmed Ibrahim Mufaddal, and Director General of the Defense Industries System, Lieutenant General Mirghani Idris Suleiman.

On the other hand, the Sudanese government welcomed the allocation of additional funds by the United States of America to support humanitarian aid in Sudan, especially “areas where it is prohibited "Rapid Support Forces" Sudanese citizens are able to obtain their needs.”

The Government of Sudan confirmed – in a statement issued by the Sudanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs today, Saturday, reported by the Sudanese News Agency (SUNA) – the continued opening of all ports that were agreed upon with the United Nations and its agencies, Including the Adre crossing and Kadugli Airport, with a commitment to provide the facilities required to deliver humanitarian aid to those in need.

On the other hand, the President of the Sudanese Sovereignty Council, Lieutenant General Lt. Gen. Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan expressed his thanks to the administration of US President Joe Biden for allocating additional funds to support humanitarian work in Sudan.

Al-Burhan said: – In his tweet today on the (X) platform – “Thanks to the administration of President Biden for allocating additional funds to support humanitarian work in Sudan, and the Government of Sudan confirms the continued opening of all crossings and ports for entering aid that have been agreed upon with United Nations agencies.”
