India.. A building under construction on the railway collapsed, trapping several people

A building under construction at a railway station in the city of Kannauj in the northern Indian state of Uttar Pradesh collapsed on Saturday afternoon, trapping about 24 workers under the rubble, according to a senior official.
Six workers were rescued and taken to hospital, according to the Press Trust of India news agency on Saturday.
Initial images from the site showed scenes of chaos and confusion with crowds of people, clouds of dust and broken wooden beams, as people tried to rescue those trapped.

“According to preliminary information, the accident occurred when the roof of the building under construction collapsed,” District Governor Shobharant Kumar Shukal said.
Shukl, who rushed to the area along with other senior officials, to monitor the rescue operation, added, “Our first priority is to rescue the trapped workers. We are using all our available resources for the rescue efforts.”
