France…the latest developments in the collision of two tram trains in Strasbourg

A two-terrain vehicle collided in the city of Strasbourg in eastern France on Saturday, injuring dozens of people, but without recording any critical injuries, according to the authorities.
The accident occurred in the afternoon in a tunnel leading to the station near the city’s central train station.

“About 100 other people were examined, although they were not injured, due to shock or stress,” said Rene Cellier, director of the fire and rescue service in the Basse-Rennes region.
He added that emergency services deployed 130 firefighters and 50 rescue vehicles.

Cellier said there were “about 50 people in a state of relative emergency, with injuries such as scalp wounds, broken collarbones… but no critical injuries. The situation could have been much worse.”
The exact causes of the collision are not yet clear.
