The Emirati-Finnish Business Forum discusses enhancing trade exchange and private sector opportunities

DUBAI, 15 JANUARY / WAM / The activities of the Emirati-Finnish Business Forum were held in Dubai today, in the presence of His Excellency Petteri Urbo, Prime Minister of the Republic of Finland, His Excellency Humaid Mohammed bin Salem, Secretary General of the Federation of Emirates Chambers and President of the International Chamber of Commerce – UAE, and His Excellency Amna Fikri, UAE Ambassador to… The Republic of Finland, and a number of officials and business owners from both countries.
The forum is being held under the auspices of the Federation of Emirates Chambers in cooperation with the Finnish Embassy in the country and the Finland Business Foundation, as part of the program of the visit of the Finnish trade mission accompanying His Excellency the Prime Minister of Finland to the country, which included more than 35 companies that are considered among the most important and largest Finnish companies.
The business forum, in which more than 100 participants participated, discussed ways to increase intra-trade, cooperation and exchange of experiences in the fields of innovation, and discussed opportunities for partnership and knowledge exchange in the sectors of technology, health care, renewable energy, advanced industries and education, with a focus on enhancing the opportunities of the private sector in developing that partnership. .
His Excellency Petteri Urbo, Prime Minister of the Republic of Finland, opened the forum with a speech in which he stressed that the Republic of Finland and the UAE have witnessed strong trade relations in recent years, praising the UAE’s development process in various fields, which has earned it a prominent international position.
He described the business forum as an important platform to enhance cooperation, explore opportunities, and identify new areas of partnership during the next stage.
His Excellency Humaid Mohammed bin Salem, Secretary-General of the Federation of Emirates Chambers, stressed the depth of commercial and cultural ties between the United Arab Emirates and Finland, considering that the forum constitutes an exceptional opportunity to develop and develop these relations in a way that achieves common interests and development goals.
He explained that this forum reflects the desire of officials and business owners in the two countries to advance joint cooperation and discuss opportunities and areas of partnership in light of the strong bilateral and economic relations between the two countries.
The forum’s activities witnessed the organization of more than 120 B2B business meetings for business owners from the two countries, which included extensive discussions on opportunities for cooperation in several tracks that serve the interests of the private sector in the two countries, with a focus on the strategies and projects proposed for the partnership in the current and future phase, and the opportunities and challenges of partnership between the two business communities in these areas. And the ICT track, with a focus on digital transformation and smart cities.
