Head of Education Quality: Al-Azhar education is an authentic scientific and cultural pillar in Egypt and the Islamic world

 Dr. Alaa Ashmawi, head of the National Authority for Quality Assurance and Accreditation of Education, said that the authority attaches special importance to Al-Azhar education institutions and programs, because of the unique educational model they provide that combines Islamic sciences with modern sciences, attracts expatriates from all over the world, and contributes to preparing a generation capable of keeping pace with developments and actively participating in achieving the goals of Egypt’s Vision 2030.

Ashmawy explained that the forum comes as an extension of the process of constructive cooperation between the Authority and the Sheikhdom of Al-Azhar, a process that aims to support the development of Al-Azhar education and enhance its quality, as it is an authentic scientific and cultural pillar in the education structure. He added that the forum reflects the progress that has been achieved in implementing quality systems at Al-Azhar Al-Sharif, and the efforts of the Al-Azhar education sector in the Authority and in updating the national academic reference standards based on competencies in the sectors of Islamic and Arabic sciences, in addition to Celebrating accredited institutions in appreciation of their efforts in building effective educational systems based on quality and continuous development.

 

Dr. Rajia Taha, Vice President of the National Authority for Quality Assurance and Accreditation for Al-Azhar Education Affairs, confirmed that the fundamental challenge today lies in consolidating the importance of spreading the culture of quality education in Egypt and transforming it from a set of procedural frameworks into an institutional culture, solid conviction, and an integrated work philosophy.

Dr. Rajia Taha added that the forum focuses on qualitative axes, the most important of which is reviewing developments in the work of the body, and highlighting national academic reference standards based on competencies, especially in the sectors of Sharia and Arab sciences.
