Ammar Al Nuaimi visits a museum" Culture of woven treasures" For handmade carpets

AJMAN, 15 JANUARY / WAM / His Highness Sheikh Ammar bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, Crown Prince of Ajman and Chairman of the Executive Council, visited today the “Woven Treasures Culture” museum of rare handmade carpets.
The museum is held under the slogan “Islamic Art from Past Centuries” at the Ajman Hotel. It is a unique museum of its kind, as it includes antique carpets. It is considered one of the largest museums of luxury handmade carpets in the Emirates, and its pieces date back to the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries AD.
The museum is organized by the Heritage Carpet Foundation, and displays more than 4,000 pieces of luxury and rare carpets worth more than a billion dirhams, which are not intended for sale. This is a contribution from the foundation to spread the arts of luxury carpets that decorated palaces of past centuries and have today become rare museum pieces in museums. Global.
Businessman Amir Qanbari Nia, Director General of the Heritage Carpet Foundation, said that this museum comes in line with the Ajman 2030 vision of making the emirate a center for arts and culture, by protecting cultural heritage, highlighting and developing it, supporting community participation in artistic and cultural activities, and supporting the development of artistic and cultural sectors.
Qanbari Nia stressed the commitment of the luxury handmade carpet industries and their keeping pace with the UAE’s vision of sustainability, and the commitment to a sustainable future in which the current and future economic, social and environmental impacts are taken into account, as the handmade carpet industries of the Heritage Carpet Foundation are keen to achieve “zero carbon” in all of its operational operations.
He added that the museum is cultural and educational, and displays a collection of handmade Persian carpets preserved with precision and extreme care. Each of its very precious pieces tells a craftsmanship story and narrates a centuries-old cultural heritage, making it one of the largest carpet exhibitions in the world, in terms of the number of pieces displayed. And its value, and ensuring that the exhibition enjoys a great deal of distinction and importance.
The Heritage Carpet Foundation has 86 branches in 29 countries, and has held a large number of exhibitions in multiple countries since its founding in 1841, making it the oldest institution in the trade of authentic carpets in the world.
