Abdullah Al-Astad (28 years old – from Khor Fakkan, Sharjah) told Emirates Al-Youm: “When I was asked to design the linear logo for the Mohammed bin Zayed Sat satellite, I realized the extent of the national and cultural responsibility that the design carries,” noting that he felt that he had A great challenge, as this logo is not just a drawing or design, but rather a representation of the value of the name and status of the President of the State, and an affirmation of the strength of the Emirati identity that is mixed with innovation.
He pointed out that he felt great pride when he saw the logo he designed adorning this historic achievement, especially since he had the honor of writing the satellite’s logo in Arabic script. He continued, “Seeing the name of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed, President of the State, may God protect him, written in Arabic script on this satellite.” Artificial intelligence, as it crosses the borders of the Earth into space, represents a cultural and civilizational message that emphasizes the UAE’s connection to its roots and identity, at a time when it is taking confident steps towards the future.”
Regarding the time he took to complete the calligraphy logo for “Mohamed bin Zayed Sat,” he said: “The design was completed during hours of intense work, and what pleased me was that it was also approved within just one day.”
He added, “My contribution to this project, although simple compared to the efforts of the engineers and technicians, nevertheless represents a symbol of the national spirit that unites the people of the Emirates around achieving achievements.”

It was not just a simple design or writing a name, but rather a message that carried the spirit of the nation and the determination of its people who are making their mark in various fields. Also, seeing the logo on the work team’s uniforms and the banners surrounding the national project made me realize that artistic creativity can be part of major achievements immortalized in history.
