The Society supervises the organization of the “Let’s Live” Walk, the largest fundraising event dedicated to supporting cancer patients and survivors, every two years in cooperation with the “American Cancer Society”, which launched the global “Let’s Live” Walk for the first time in 1985 in the United States of America, while this year witnesses The fourth session of the walk in the Middle East and North Africa region, which plays a fundamental role in promoting awareness of cancer and ways to prevent it.

The walk seeks to make a tangible difference in the lives of cancer patients in the UAE, the region and the world, through four basic pillars that include honoring survivors and celebrating their efforts in the fight against cancer, spreading positivity, optimism and hope among patients, commemorating those who lost their lives in the battle against cancer, and commitment. By making positive change and creating a sustainable impact by combating and preventing cancer.

Aisha Al-Mulla, Director of the Friends of Cancer Patients Association, stressed the importance of this global initiative and its role in unifying efforts aimed at supporting cancer patients and enhancing community interaction with their cause, noting that the march embodies the association’s message and goals, which seeks to support patients and their families and help alleviate the financial and psychological burdens of treatment. She added that since its inception in 2017, under the directives of the wife of His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah, Her Highness Sheikha Jawaher bint Muhammad Al Qasimi, the founder and honorary president of the Friends of Cancer Patients Society, the march has honored more than 500 cancer survivors, male and female, and united the efforts of community members whose number exceeded 10,000.
