Mohammed bin Rashid honors the winners of the “Geniuses of the Arabs” initiative 2024

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, may God protect him, honored the second batch of award winners for the second session of the “Geniuses of the Arabs” initiative, which includes 6 categories: “Medicine, Engineering and Technology, Economics, Natural Sciences, Architecture, design, literature and the arts.

This came during a large celebration hosted by the Museum of the Future in Dubai today, under the patronage and presence of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, may God protect him, and His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Deputy Prime Minister. Minister of Defense, Mohammed bin Abdullah Al-Gergawi, Minister of Cabinet Affairs, Chairman of the Supreme Committee of the “Geniuses of the Arabs” Initiative, and an elite group of thinkers, scholars, ministers, diplomats and officials, And a number of visual, audio and digital media outlets from various parts of the Arab world, as the “Geniuses of the Arabs” initiative, the largest Arab initiative, honored the second batch of winners of the second edition’s awards.

He added that history has proven that nations that embrace science and culture can renew themselves and create a bright future. As His Highness says: “Living nations do not despair or run away from challenges.”

Al-Gergawi’s speech cited examples from Arab history, such as the House of Wisdom in Baghdad under the leadership of Harun al-Rashid, and Cordoba, which was led by Abd al-Rahman III to be a scientific center and engine of the European Renaissance. These leaders believed in science and the arts, and enabled scholars to play their pivotal role in building civilization. Today, His Highness Mohammed bin Rashid continues this great legacy by empowering Arab minds to achieve a comprehensive renaissance.

Al Gergawi referred to the exceptional projects launched by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid to build the future. Which brought about a radical shift in development paths. The most prominent of which are the Arab Space Project, which culminated in the arrival of Arabs to Mars, initiatives in education, governmental and administrative development, and the Arab Reading Challenge, in which more than 30 million Arab students participated. And the programming language teaching project, which benefited more than 8 million Arab youth.

He stressed that honoring Arab geniuses today is not only a culmination of their achievements, but rather a new responsibility to support Arab minds and talents.

He said: “The Arab world, which includes about 450 million people, most of whom are young people, carries promising energies and ideas that need someone to believe in them and give them the opportunity to flourish.”
