“Industry” launches the “Mining Innovation Studio” initiative

The Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources launched the “Mining Innovation Studio” initiative, as part of the activities of the fourth edition of the International Mining Conference held in Riyadh.
This comes to enhance innovation in the mining sector and attract talent and emerging companies to develop innovative solutions and advanced technologies that support the mining sector as a third pillar of the national economy.
This initiative comes in cooperation with the “Newlab” company, and in partnership with the Saudi Geological Survey, the National Industrial Development and Logistics Services Program (NDLP), the Saudi Arabian Mining Company (Ma’aden), and the Saudi Mining Services Company (Isnad).

Initiative objectives

The initiative, a public-private partnership, aims to deal with the challenges facing the mining sector by developing innovative technical solutions that contribute to enhancing sustainability and stimulating economic growth.
The initiative contributes to strengthening the mining sector in the Kingdom by attracting the best talents and emerging companies from all over the world. To develop innovative technologies that can be applied to enhance the capabilities of the mining sector, which supports the transformation of the sector in light of Vision 2030; It becomes the third pillar of the Saudi economy, and contributes mainly to achieving the transition towards sustainable energy.
The “Mining Innovation Studio” initiative seeks to provide innovative solutions to address the challenges of securing supply chains for critical minerals, and reduce carbon emissions across the mining value chain, in addition to consolidating the Kingdom’s position as a global center for innovation in the mining sector, and leading efforts to develop new applications for metals and materials within the context of a low-income economy. Carbon.
The initiative sent an open invitation to innovators and entrepreneurs from all over the world to participate in providing innovative ideas and solutions to the challenges facing the mining sector.
The initiative will enable these ideas by providing an ideal environment for development, experimentation and expansion, which enhances the Kingdom’s position as a leading destination for innovation in this vital sector.
It is noteworthy that the activities of the fourth edition of the International Mining Conference were launched today in Riyadh, with a record attendance of more than 20,000 participants from 170 countries, and with the participation of 250 speakers in more than 70 sessions. To review the latest developments in the sector, and discuss future challenges and opportunities, with a focus on enhancing international cooperation and the sustainability of the mining sector to achieve global economic and social development.
