The first phase of the “Dubai Walk” project will take place during the next two years, while work on the “Dubai Metro Blue Line” will begin next April, and it is scheduled to operate in 2029.
Al Marri explained, in press statements on the sidelines of the Dubai International Project Management Forum, that the Authority is keen to adopt the best technologies and artificial intelligence solutions in its projects, and applies the highest standards of sustainability, to preserve the environment and the quality of projects, noting that every project implemented has a specified operational lifespan. Projects cannot continue with their quality and efficiency without regular maintenance programs and plans to predict maintenance work, which are now determined by artificial intelligence.
She added that the Authority is keen to keep pace with technology in its projects to develop and manage them efficiently, as when implementing each new project it identifies the latest technologies in this field, such as road and train systems, and the technologies and artificial intelligence that characterize them, and studies how to benefit from these modern systems and their compatibility with existing systems. Pointing out that keeping up with technology does not mean investing in the system without updating it.
She confirmed that the Authority has accumulated experience in implementing and managing projects, and manages them through a portfolio of projects in which the project is followed up from the design stage until the last day of its life. The portfolio measures the impact of the project and the extent of achieving its target based on many considerations, including the opinions and satisfaction of customers. Moza Al Marri pointed out that the projects implemented by the Roads and Transport Authority in Dubai, since its establishment, based on best practices, were admired and appreciated by many project managers who were keen to participate in the Dubai Projects Forum, which the Authority is organizing for the tenth year in a row in partnership with the Institute of Management. Projects. She said: “When the Dubai International Project Management Forum was launched, the Roads and Transport Authority in Dubai was only a few years old
In its modern age, it was able to attract seniors interested in project management from inside and outside the country, who were keen to participate in the forum to learn about the authority’s mechanism in managing projects and maintaining them with high efficiency, such as the Dubai Metro, which was completed on time, despite the world going through a stifling global crisis at the time. Many projects faltered.
She moved on to talk about artificial intelligence and its impact on jobs, saying: “Many people view artificial intelligence as an alternative to humans in jobs, and it will eliminate many of them. They do not realize that artificial intelligence is a tool that a person uses to use his time in a better way to manage projects and develop work in a different way, stressing Artificial intelligence offers options, but it cannot make decisions, pointing out that keeping up with technology is extremely important in managing projects to develop and manage them efficiently, because not managing efficiently is a waste of money, time and personnel.
