The newspaper did not mention the exact date of the accident, but it mentioned the name of the pilot, Maxim Stepanov, who was 50 years old at the time of the accident.

According to the newspaper, Stepanov’s team destroyed 120 enemy targets and more than 180 soldiers of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. For his achievements he was awarded the title of Hero of Russia. His combat performance attracted the attention of Russian President Vladimir Putin, who personally awarded him the title “Hero of Russia.”
