Trump team may abandon Biden’s foreign policies

US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken told the Associated Press (AP) that he hopes that the next administration of President Donald Trump will move forward on key issues in President Joe Biden’s foreign policy, including those related to the Middle East and Ukraine.
But in a wide-ranging interview on Friday on his last day as secretary of state, he expressed concern that the Trump team might abandon all or some of those policies.

Russian intervention

“If past is prologue,” Blinken said, there is reason to worry that the new administration may not follow through on initiatives laid out by Biden’s national security team to end the war in Gaza, keep Ukraine free of Russian interference and maintain strong alliances with key partners.
