Canadian wheat exports rise by 151% in a week

Ottawa, January 19 (WAM) – Canada’s total wheat exports recorded an increase of 151% to more than 727 thousand metric tons last week compared to 289 thousand metric tons during the previous week.
Spring wheat exports, according to data from the Canadian Grain Commission, increased by 124% to 611 thousand metric tons, compared to 272 thousand metric tons during the previous week.
Also during last week, durum wheat exports recorded an increase of 116 thousand metric tons, compared to 17.5 thousand metric tons exported during the previous week.
Total wheat exports so far in the 2024-2025 marketing year (August-July) reached 11,706 million tons, up 9% from the corresponding period last year driven by increased durum wheat shipments year-on-year.
