We want 50% ownership of TikTok
Yesterday, Sunday, US President-elect Donald Trump told his supporters that he wants the TikTok application, which is owned by a Chinese company, to be at least 50% owned by American investors.
On the eve of his inauguration, Trump said at a rally in Washington that he would allow the application to continue to operate in the United States, “but that the United States of America would have 50% ownership of TikTok.”

Trump added: “TikTok is worth nothing. It is zero without obtaining approval to operate it.”
He continued: “If approved, they will be worth something like a trillion dollars. They will have huge value.”
Trump said: “I agree on behalf of the United States, that they will have a partner, the United States, and they will have a lot of bidding and we will do what we call a joint project.”
The popular application was blocked from reaching users in the United States for approximately 12 hours on Sunday, at a time when a new American law was scheduled to enter into force, requiring TikTok to either be sold by its current owners in China, Byte Inc. Dance, or be banned in the country.
The application returned to work after Trump, who is scheduled to take office today, Monday, announced that he would issue an executive order to reactivate the platform in the United States.
