Dubai hosts the International Expo for People of Determination in its seventh session

People of determination constitute between 10-15% of any society, and their number reaches 1.3 billion people currently, rising to 2 billion people in the year 2050, according to statistics and expectations of the World Health Organization, as a result of many factors, including aging, diseases, wars, illiteracy, and other factors.

According to the previous percentages, more than 50 million people of determination live in the Middle East, looking forward to obtaining the best technologies and learning about creative rehabilitation initiatives that will help them improve their lifestyles and live more independently.

Within this framework, the importance of the International Expo for People of Determination, which Dubai hosts annually, stems from contributing to empowering people of determination, meeting their needs and aspirations for a decent life, and achieving the UAE’s vision and supporting its directions to serve this segment.

The UAE seeks to become the best country in the world in the field of caring for and empowering people of determination thanks to the great support provided by the relevant government agencies and the tireless efforts made by the private sector to provide the best services to these dear segments of the UAE society and its visitors from various countries of the world.

The seventh session of the exhibition will be held next October on an area of ​​12,000 square meters in the Dubai World Trade Center (Halls 6-7-8). It is expected that approximately 270 international exhibitors, brands, and a center for the rehabilitation of people of determination from 50 countries will participate in this session of the exhibition and be visited by more. From 15 thousand visitors from more than 70 countries around the world.

In addition to the participation of many local and international government agencies that benefit from the exhibition’s technologies to develop the quality of their services to their customers from this segment.

His Highness added that the exhibition achieved a major achievement in its sixth session, with the participation of more than 250 exhibitors, brands, and rehabilitation centers from more than 50 countries around the world, and was visited by more than 15,000 visitors from 70 countries, including representatives of the diplomatic corps working in the Emirates and representatives of ministries. And government bodies and departments from multiple countries, including the Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Iraq, Jordan, Oman, India and other countries, where they met under one roof to exchange… Visions and ideas, building common relationships, and learning about the latest technologies, in order to serve hundreds of millions of people of determination in their countries.

His Highness said, “In its last session, the exhibition also focused on very important issues such as the autism spectrum, especially in light of the noticeable increase in the number of autistic children annually, which makes it a real challenge for any society, and the importance of integration in the education sector and the need to enhance facilities and services that contribute to facilitating travel and tourism.” For millions of people in this category, at the local and global levels, providing modern technologies and best practices in the field of rehabilitation, while emphasizing the need to enhance innovation in the field of technologies that contribute to improving the quality of life of more than 50 million people. People of determination live in the Middle East.

He added that by hosting this unique exhibition in the region, Dubai was able to confirm its presence as a global center for assistive technologies and rehabilitation services, and also confirm its presence as a city that cares about people and leaves no one behind.

The exhibition, which is considered the first of its kind in the Middle East, is the largest platform for manufacturers and distributors of supportive products, in addition to providing these technologies and rehabilitation initiatives to government agencies, rehabilitation centers, and health and educational centers that deal with people of determination.

The advanced technologies, which number more than 4,500 global technologies that serve motor, visual, hearing, mental disabilities, and the autism spectrum, play a decisive role in empowering people with disabilities, who constitute between 10-15% of the population of each country.

International experts specializing in the affairs of people with disabilities say that more than two billion people will need at least one assistive product by 2030, at a time when many elderly people need two or more.
