After the decision to withdraw… World Health Organization calls on America for a constructive dialogue

The World Health Organization called on the United States of America to hold a constructive dialogue for the health and well-being of millions of people in the world, after President Donald Trump’s decision to withdraw Washington from it.

Trump accused the World Health Organization of defrauding us when he signed a decree, justifying his decision by the gap between American and Chinese financial contributions.

The decree urges federal agencies to “suspend any future transfer, support, or resources from the United States Government to the WHO,” and calls on them to find reliable U.S. and international partners capable of taking over activities previously undertaken by the WHO.

Call to review the decision

World Health Organization spokesman Tarik Jasarevic told reporters that the international body “regrets the announcement of the United States of America that it intends to withdraw from the organization.”

He added: “We hope that the United States will review its position and engage in a constructive dialogue for the health and well-being of millions of people in the world.”
He expressed his hope that there would be a constructive dialogue with the American authorities.

Fears of Trump’s decision

The European Commission expressed concerns about Trump’s decision to withdraw from the World Health Organization, warning that the move could undermine the response to any future epidemics.

“If we want to withstand global health threats, we must have global cooperation,” Commission spokeswoman Eva Herncerova told reporters.
She added: “We are confident that the American administration will think about all these matters before the official withdrawal.

Withdrawal for the second time

This is the second time that Trump has sought to sever ties with the World Health Organization. During his first term, the Trump administration issued a withdrawal notice during Trump’s first term, accusing the organization of being excessively influenced by China during the early stages of the Covid outbreak.
Washington later backed down from this step under the administration of former President Joe Biden.
In his new executive order, Trump directed US agencies to suspend “any future transfer of funds, support, or resources from the United States Government to the World Health Organization,” and to “identify trusted and transparent partners from the United States and around the world to perform the necessary activities that the World Health Organization has previously undertaken.” the previous”.
