Omar Sultan Al Olama, Minister of State for Artificial Intelligence, Digital Economy and Remote Work Applications, stressed the importance of artificial intelligence as a fundamental pillar for achieving qualitative leaps in the quality of life and enhancing the UAE’s global position.
In his opening speech during the “Oracle Cloud World Tour” event, which launched today at the Dubai Trade Center, Al-Ulama spoke about the radical transformation that the UAE has witnessed over the past few decades, as it moved from dependence on fishing and from the absence of infrastructure to a country competing with major countries. in the fields of technology and artificial intelligence in record time.
He said that what distinguishes the UAE today is that it has moved from those circumstances to a country that competes globally in the fields of space and artificial intelligence.
The scholars added, “There were people who had the audacity to dream, and were not restricted by resources or geographical borders.” He said, “Our leadership and our people have proven that no dream is too big and no path is too difficult.”
He explained that there are people who lived through a time when the Emirates were without roads or infrastructure, and today, these same people are witnessing the Emirates launching artificial intelligence strategies, reaching into space, and investing in the latest technologies to improve the lives of residents.
Scientists emphasized that the UAE’s vision for artificial intelligence goes beyond being a means to achieve economic returns.
He said that artificial intelligence is not just a tool to increase productivity or improve economic returns, but rather a way to improve people’s quality of life.
He added that smart services in the Emirates aim to provide a smooth and advanced experience, pointing to the experience of Emirati airports that allow travelers to move around without the need for direct interaction or even using a passport thanks to advanced artificial intelligence systems.
Al Olama explained that investing in artificial intelligence aims to provide distinguished services that make the UAE a global model.
He stressed that artificial intelligence in the UAE is not just a technology used, but rather an integral part of the infrastructure and daily services.
Omar Sultan Al Olama pointed out that the first step taken by the UAE was to invest in the human element.
He praised the UAE’s partners who believed in the country’s vision and innovations before technology became the focus of global attention, noting that Oracle was one of the first companies to believe in the UAE’s potential in the eighties and nineties.
