Unrelenting fires in Los Angeles… forcing thousands to evacuate homes

A new wildfire has broken out north of Los Angeles, forcing thousands of residents to evacuate their homes in an area that has recently seen other devastating fires.
The fire spread quickly near Lake Castaic, burning 1,400 hectares in less than two hours, and strong, hot, dry winds helped fan it.

Evacuation orders were issued for about 31,000 people around the lake, which is located about 56 kilometers north of Los Angeles.
The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department urged everyone in the area affected by the new fire, known as the “Hughes Fire,” to leave immediately.

An analysis showed that the Los Angeles fires have destroyed the largest metropolitan area in California for at least 40 years.
Local authorities in America announced that firefighting teams had finally begun to make progress since the start of forest fires in the Los Angeles area, but the fires began to burn again.
