المملكة: “Al -Ola Authority” expects heritage and cultural partnerships with Italian institutions
These partnerships are based on an ancient heritage of cooperation and exchange of experiences, and they are rooted in the history of the old incense road that linked the two civilizations, and the various areas of cooperation include antiquities, food and architecture, which reflects the richness and diversity of ties between Alla and Italy.
The cooperation between Al -Ula and Italy has witnessed prosperity in the past years through various initiatives; Including with “Salou Food”, the unique twinning with the Italian city of “Matira” through a program concerned with the protection of cultural heritage, and an agreement with the National Archaeological Museum in Naples, which was launched at an exhibition that presented a group of Italian archaeological masterpieces.
Cultural exchange
In 2023, His Highness Prince Badr bin Abdullah bin Farhan, the Minister of Culture, and his Italian counterpart Gennaro Sanjuliano, signed a strategic partnership agreement to enhance cultural exchange between the two countries.
Italian Prime Minister Giojia Miloni recently visited Al -Ula Governorate, marking a new stage of cultural cooperation, and Meloni and her accompanying delegation reviewed a set of cultural and historical monuments in Al -Ula, including the stone site, which is included on the UNESCO World Heritage List.
The CEO in charge of the Royal Commission for Al -Ula Governorate, Abeer Al -Aqel, said: “Al -Ula and Bombi collects them similarities in the historical depth, and we look together to develop it through international cooperation in the field of heritage preservation, management, and introducing the world to cultural heritage, which reflects our ambitious endeavors to enhance sustainable tourism.”
She pointed out that this partnership enhances the scope of cooperation in multiple areas through exchanging knowledge, the commitment of the common sides to protect the cultural treasures for future generations, and work together to design and create cultural origins and new experiences.
