المملكة: The Minister of Foreign Affairs confirms the Kingdom’s support for strengthening a multilateral trading system

On behalf of His Royal Highness bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister – may God protect him -, His Highness Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah participated , today, in the first session of the first day of the summit of leaders of .
And it was titled: "Inclusive and sustainable economic growth, leaving no one behind: Building our economies, the role of trade, financing development and the debt burden"held in the city of Johannesburg in the Republic of South Africa.
Reform of the World Trade Organization
During the session, His Highness the Minister of Foreign Affairs delivered a speech at the beginning of which he conveyed the greetings of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and His Highness the Crown Prince – may God protect them – and their sincere wishes for the success of the efforts of the South African presidency, which is hosting the work of the G20 for the first time on the African continent, and the efforts of member states to enhance economic cooperation and achieve sustainable development at the global level.
He also stressed In his speech, His Highness stressed the Kingdom’s full support for the efforts aimed at reforming the World Trade Organization and promoting a fair and transparent multilateral trading system that enables countries to participate effectively in the global economy, stressing that international trade is an essential pillar of comprehensive development and economic stability.
His Highness referred to the Kingdom’s efforts, in line with the Kingdom’s Vision 2030, in promoting responsible investment, sustainable manufacturing, and harnessing resources efficiently to support development.
Addressing challenges Food Security
His Highness also called for aligning the G20 efforts with sustainable development goals, addressing the challenges of food security, energy, climate and digital transformation, and reducing illicit financial flows, through international cooperation based on shared responsibility.
His Highness concluded his speech by emphasizing that global challenges transcend borders, and require sincere international solidarity and multilateral cooperation to build a more comprehensive and sustainable global economy.
The session was attended by His Excellency the Minister of Finance, Mr. Mohammed bin Abdullah. Al-Jadaan, and His Excellency the Saudi Deputy Minister of Finance, Mr. Abdul Mohsen bin Saad Al-Khalaf.
