The program was opened with a speech by the Secretary -General of the Islamic Alliance, in which he presented his great gratitude and thanks to His Royal Highness Prince Khalid bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Minister of Defense, Prime Minister of the Defense of the Islamic Alliance countries to fight terrorism, for the unlimited support received by the Islamic Alliance, and his announcement at the meeting of the Defense Ministers of State In February 2024, the alliance for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia supported the amount of one hundred million riyals for strategic initiatives and the great support that was presented to the states of the Sahel, for its support in its war on terrorism, in addition to (46) training and qualifying programs for the candidates of member states.

After that, Major General Al -Mughidi explained that terrorism is a phenomenon that threatens the security of states and the stability of peoples at the global level, bypassing borders and continents, and the threat of terrorism is not limited to its brutal actions only, but extends to strike in the depth of societies, and destroys the hopes of peoples in living with security and prosperity.
He added that the launch of the Islamic Military Alliance Program to fight terrorism in the Sahel countries in its second station today in the Republic of Niger reflects our belief that fighting terrorism cannot be fragmented, but rather must be based on the integrative partnership between countries, and indicated by the support provided by the government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Promote regional cooperation
He stressed that the program is not just an initiative, but rather a practical step towards a safer and more stable future for the Sahel and the Islamic world, and added that the program aims to enhance regional cooperation, provide technical and logistical support, and build the capabilities necessary to confront terrorism in its various dimensions.
Major General Al -Mughidi concluded his speech by emphasizing that the Islamic religion confirms the sanctity of blood and souls, and the refusal of corruption on the ground, for Islam is a religion that calls for love and brotherhood, and establishes human relations based on peace and coexistence, and it should not be thrown into Islam in the circle of extremism and terrorism, for these extremist organizations, what they commit From disgraceful actions, they only represent themselves, and there is no connection to the Islamic religion that prohibits injustice and aggression, and to all other heavenly religions.

The Minister of State and the Minister of National Defense of the Republic of Niger, Lieutenant -General Salivo Modi, delivered a speech in which he expressed his happiness at the launch of the Sahel countries program in the Republic of Niger.
Treating the causes of terrorism
The Nigerian Minister of Defense pointed out that the coastal countries have become a favorite arena for terrorist organizations that exploit the social and political weakness to practice violence and killing, and these terrorist groups have been responsible for years for the acts of destruction and sabotage, and they serve the authorities of their funding and sponsorship, and there is no doubt that these acts shake the stability of the region and harm security and peace At the regional and global levels.
He stated that terrorism is transient, and a country alone cannot face it; So his fighting requires enhancing cooperation to alleviate its sources of financing locally and globally. Stressing that the launch of the program in its second version in the Republic of Niger is an opportunity to exchange opinions and experiences, find radical solutions to address the causes of terrorism, develop sustainable solutions to these threats and build safer and prosperous countries.

The opening of the coastal program in its second station was followed by a specialized lecture entitled “tools and legislation to combat terrorist financing”, where a comprehensive understanding of the legal frameworks and tools necessary to discover and prevent terrorist financing. The lecture also dealt with the challenges related to law enforcement, and the promotion of compliance at the national and international levels.
It is noteworthy that the Islamic alliance, according to its strategy in the Sahel Countries Program in its second stage, organizes a number of programs in the Republic of Niger, including training, development and rehabilitation programs, through which it aims to build human capabilities in the face of extremist groups in various fields, intellectual, media, financial and military.
