In implementation of the Minister of Defence, His Excellency Commander of the Pakistani Army Field Marshal Asim Munir, King Abdulaziz Medal, Excellent Class; In appreciation of his distinguished efforts in consolidating and strengthening the bonds of friendship and joint cooperation, and developing Saudi-Pakistani relations.
This came during His Highness’s reception of His Excellency, in his office in Riyadh today, and His Highness Prince Khalid bin Salman congratulated Field Marshal Asim Munir on the occasion of his appointment as Commander of the Defense Forces of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, wishing him success.
Historical relations
A review was also held during the reception. Historical Saudi-Pakistani relations, strategic cooperation in the defense field between the two brotherly countries, and they discussed efforts to establish the foundations of international security and peace, and issues of common interest.
The reception was attended by His Highness Prince Abdul Rahman bin Muhammad bin Ayyaf, Deputy Minister of Defense, His Excellency the Chief of the General Staff, Lieutenant General Fayyad bin Hamid Al-Ruwaili, His Excellency the Advisor to His Highness the Minister of Defense for Intelligence Affairs, Mr. Hisham bin Abdulaziz bin Saif, and the Military Attaché at the Embassy of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in Islam. Attending on the Pakistani side were the Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan to the Kingdom, Ahmed Farouk, the Secretary of His Excellency the Commander of the Defense Forces and Army Commander, Major General Muhammad Jawad Tariq, and the Military Attaché at the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan to the Kingdom, Brigadier General Mohsen Javed.
