Mohammed bin Rashid Library hosts a symposium "Night with Al -Rahabna"
Dubai, February 2 / WAM / The Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Library, in cooperation with the Dubai National Theater and Sharqiyat Coral, hosted a cultural symposium entitled “Night with Al -Rehabna”, which witnessed a heavy presence that included a group of Arab and Emirati intellectuals, presented by His Excellency the writer Mohammed Ahmed Al -Murr, Chairman of the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Library, along with a number of cultural leaders in Dubai.
The Arab artist Marwan Rahbani and the heir of the Rahbani School, which influenced the Arab artistic scene for decades, spoke about the experience of Al -Rahabna, the musical and theatrical, while His Excellency Yasser Al -Qarqawi, Director General of the Watan Fund, and Chairman of the NBD Board of Directors, prepared and presented for the symposium, and asked dozens of questions that The attendees led on a wonderful journey through a more wonderful history of the Rahbani lyrical theater, its developments and its effects that exceeded the borders.
The symposium included several vital axes, which discussed the impact of the Rahbani lyrical theater in Arab societies, and how Lebanese society received this experience since its first start, in addition to the elements of the Rahbani theater that granted it the status of continuity and the transit influence of generations; The magic mix created by Al -Rehabna, which enabled their actions to withstand the political, economic and social transformations.
At the end of the symposium, Yasser Al -Qarqawi asked about the bridge that Al -Rehabna made to remain their influence over generations; Where Marwan Rahbani explained that the secret of influence is the unique creation of their music, which combined originality and renewal.
His Excellency Muhammad Ahmed Al -Murr honored, at the conclusion of the symposium, the artist Marwan Rahbani in appreciation of his contributions to preserving and developing the Rahbani artistic heritage, and His Excellency Yasser Al -Qarqawi was honored; For its prominent role in promoting the cultural and artistic movement in the Emirates.
