Omani officials praise the book of the Ruler of Sharjah " Portuguese in the Sea of Oman "
Muscat, April 24 / WAM / His Excellency Dr. Abdullah bin Nasser Al -Harasi, Omani Minister of Information, said that we are proud of the presence of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah today, the opening of the 29th edition of the Muscat International Book Fair and the signing of the first copies of his latest books entitled “The Portuguese in the Sea of Oman – the latest year of 1497-1757 in 21 volumes.
He said in a statement to the Emirates News Agency / WAM / that His Highness is one of the most important historians in the matter and Omani history and any research addition it provides in historical investigation and in showing new documents that add to the Omani history and the human library in general and the Arab and Omani library in particular.
And he pointed out that His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah focuses on the topic of history not only as a subject, but as a message that preserves our identity and our affiliation, indicating that His Highness targets through these books and publications to promote and root the identity based on knowledge and scientific investigation, as His Highness uses the most accurate scientific curricula in his historical studies and we in the Sultanate of Oman take care of a lot of what His Highness provides from studies and exclusion of historical and proud of these additions The succession, for his part, which adds important aspects of Omani history and the region in general and enhances our feeling of national identity.
For his part, His Excellency Mahmoud bin Yahya bin Suleiman Al -Dhahali, Governor of the Eastern Governorate in the Sultanate of Oman, said to / WAM / that the book launched by His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah today at the opening of the Muscat International Book Fair reflects the history and legacy of the Sultanate of Oman and its role in defeating the Portuguese and we are happy to release it because it sheds light on a past that will be transferred to the current generation and for future generations as we look at the book as an important encyclopedia that tells about an important period The Sultan of Oman, and we are proud of this great achievement by His Highness and we hope to benefit from it.
